My name is Billie Kay, I am a 63 year old, sleep lab manager who got very little physical exercise partially due to my job, age and being extremely obese. I know my weight was a hazard to my health. I had tried just about every weight reduction method including Weight Watchers, etc. I always lost some weight each time only to regain it and more. I have also tried just about every type of diet pill only to have the same results.
About two years ago my family doctor began talking to me about Bariatric Surgery. He suggested either the Lap Band surgery , which was approved by the FDA or the Gastric Bypass, which has or can have many serious complications. He suggested that I attend a weight loss seminar. After coming so obese that I had to walk with a cane and not be able to get up from a sitting position without help from my husband, I finally decided that I absolutely needed to so something quick. I also had severe fibromyalsia and Type II diabetes.
I was very apprehensive about attending a seminar. I finally attended one when I met Dr Jesse Lopez, Jr. I can tell you after the meeting I knew Lap Band surgery was the surgery for me. Dr Lopez appeared to be very kind, intelligent and truly interested in helping me overcome not only my apprehension but my extreme obesity. I had my surgery last November 20, 2005. It was the easiest thing I ever did. Since then I have lost approximately 85 pounds and plan to lose at least twice that with the help of Dr Lopez and his great nurse, Ginger. I also lost any signs of Type II diabetes and almost all of my fibromyalsoa.
I now can walk anywhere without a cane. I walk at least 30 minutes a day on my treadmill and no longer need help getting up. I can now chase my grandchildren and truly enjoy life. Please, if you are obese and want to truly regain your life, go see Dr Lopez. He is a great doctor as well as a great man who is really interested in helping you achieve your goal and your health. This is the easiest thing I ever did and I’m so thankful to have found such a great doctor.
